Job Description: Evaluation and Outcomes Developer
Location: Remote / potential for in-person meetings at Saltbox warehouse SODO Seattle if desired (Saltbox warehouse is a coworking space that serves as Bras for Girls HQ)
Reporting to: Executive Director, Sarah Lesko, MD/MPH
Type: Contract position, 200 hours of total work, with the potential to grow into a salaried full-time position
Pay Range: $35-60 per hour (depending on skill set)
Start Date: flexible
Are you a mission-driven public health researcher and sports enthusiast looking for work that allows you to match your skills with your passions? Bras for Girls is a 501c(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to providing sports bras and breast development education to girls in need. We are growing quickly (over 120,000 sports bras distributed so far), and are maturing as an organization. We have an operating Theory of Change, 18 months of survey data, and are looking to design our next 3 years of outcomes evaluation. We are seeking a highly organized, community-minded, intellectually curious, and passionate public health researcher to assist our team as the Evaluation and Outcomes Developer. In this position, you will play a critical role in creating a 3 year evaluation plan for Bras for Girls in order to: guide our work and grant applications; ensure that we understand the impact of our mission-driven actions; and effectively present these results to our stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
1. Understanding and Summary of our Outcomes Research to date:
- Consider the Bras for Girls Theory of Change and identify potential areas for evaluation.
- Create reference/ summary document of all sports bra and body change research relevant to Bras for Girls.
- Review results of our 15 months of survey data and create snippets of results to present effectively on website, newsletter, social media, and impact report.
- Review Title 1 middle school PE teacher outreach program to date.
2. Create Evaluation Plan for 2025-2028:
- Understand that we work in populations of financially under-resourced youth and adults, and evaluation requires humility and patience.
- Design an evaluation and outcomes plan, utilizing our Theory of Change as the underpinning.
- Create a detailed step by step and comprehensive evaluation schedule, with timeline, tasks, needed outreach, and expected bell curve of results.
3. Strategy Development:
- Collaborate with the Executive Director and leadership team to continue to refine the Bras for Girls Theory of Change model and educational curriculum/ materials.
- Help identify key populations for Bras for Girls outreach.
- Provide input and recommendations on initiatives to enhance the organization's impact and reach.
Qualifications:
- MPH degree completed or in process.
- Well-versed in public health outcomes research, including quantitative, qualitative, and mixed methods.
- Experience working with vulnerable populations.
- Have designed at least 2 outcomes focused research studies or evaluation programs, publication/presentation experience a plus.
- Proficiency in Excel, G Suite, Canva, statistical software of your choice.
- Strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently, and ask for help when needed.
- Curiosity and flexibility.
- Non-profit experience is a plus, but not required.
